What's new in Lounjy
Lounjy is in beta. This page shows what the app can already do, topic by topic. The first public version is planned for the end of 2026. You can't download it yet; the download page will tell you when you can.
- Live TV and TV guide
- Films and series
- Search and favourites
- Set up with your phone
- Controls
- Display and languages
- Privacy
- Coming soon
Lounjy does not provide any content. The app contains no channels, films, series or playlists. You watch with your own IPTV service. Use a service that holds the rights to what it broadcasts.
In the beta everything works for everyone. Some of these features will be part of Plus later; see the FAQ.
Live TV and TV guide
Channel surfing the way you're used to, even with thousands of channels and hundreds of groups.
- Change channels like on TV. Up and down for the next channel, numbers for a channel number, and one button for the Previous channel.
- Groups by country. Choose group gets you to the right group quickly, and your Favourite groups come first.
- A preview of the channel before you pick it, with what's on now and what's next.
- A TV guide that links itself. Lounjy links the guide to your channels by itself. Where that doesn't work, Link TV guide makes suggestions and shows how sure it is. If the times are off, shift them in steps of half an hour.
- No empty guide. If your service briefly sends no programmes, the last guide stays and Lounjy shows what's on now and next.
- Start over: restart the programme that's on now, if you sign in with Xtream Codes and your service keeps an archive for that channel. You can always skip back a little in what you've just watched live: Back 10 s, Forward 30 s and Back to live.
- Merge duplicate channels. HD, Full HD and 4K versions of a channel become one. If one version stutters, Lounjy switches to another.
- Watchlist. Add a programme, series or topic. Lounjy looks for it in the guide for the next 48 hours and lets you know just before it starts.
- Automatic updates. Channels and guide stay up to date, and Lounjy never updates while you're watching. You can also turn it off.
Films and series
Pick up where you left off, and get to the next episode without searching.
- Continue watching on Home. A film or episode starts again where you stopped.
- New since your last visit: what your service has added since then, in one row.
- Series by season, with an overview of the Episodes and what you've already watched.
- Next episode as soon as the credits start. Want to see them anyway? Choose Watch credits.
- Skip intro, if the video has chapters that mark it.
- Speed from 0.5× to 2×, for films and series.
Search and favourites
What you watch often comes first. Everything else is a few letters away.
- One search box for everything: channels, films, series and what's on TV in the next 24 hours.
- A search field on Live TV, Movies and Series, by name or by channel number.
- Favourites for channels, films and series. They're on Home, next to your Recent channels.
- Your own layout. Rename channels, give them your own Number, move them and Hide them. Your layout stays when the channels are updated.
- Sort by your own order, your service's order, or A to Z.
- Hid one by mistake? Bring it back under Hidden channels in Settings.
Set up with your phone
No more typing long addresses with a remote.
- Scan and fill in. Choose Add playlist and then With your phone. Scan the QR code and enter your details on your phone.
- Only on your own home network, with a 6-digit pairing code that expires after 10 minutes.
- Xtream Codes or M3U. Sign in with server, username and password, or load an M3U link or file.
- You see what's happening. While loading, Lounjy shows how far it is, and you can always cancel. Afterwards you get an overview, including when your subscription expires.
- For backups too. When you restore a backup, you can enter the passwords with your phone as well.
Controls in the player
With a remote, keyboard, mouse or touch. Every panel closes with Back or Esc.
- OK opens the controls, left opens the channel list. Nothing to look for.
- Picture and sound in one place: audio, subtitles, quality and aspect ratio.
- Type to search the list of audio tracks and subtitles. Handy when there are lots of languages.
- Easy-to-read subtitles that scale with the picture. Choose Standard, Easy to read, Classic yellow or High contrast.
- Your languages remembered. Lounjy picks your audio and subtitle language by itself, if the stream has them.
- Full screen on Windows, with a button to go back. On a phone you watch in landscape.
- If the connection drops briefly, Lounjy reconnects by itself.
- Straight to TV. Set On startup to Last channel and Lounjy opens on the channel you were watching.
- In the beta, we're testing on Android TV Lounjy matching your TV's refresh rate to the video (AFR) for smoother motion, if your TV supports it.
- Continue watching on your TV. In the beta, we're testing on Android TV Lounjy showing what you watch in Continue watching on your TV's home screen. The TV system manages that row.
Display and languages
Calm in the dark, easy to read by day.
- Day or night, or automatic like your device. You can also switch quickly with the button in the sidebar. The picture of channels and films always stays dark.
- Eight languages: Dutch, English, German, French, Spanish, Turkish, Polish and Arabic. Lounjy follows your device's language, and you can also choose yourself.
- Arabic from right to left, with its own typeface that's easy to read.
- Good contrast, by day and by night. The colours follow the accessibility guidelines (WCAG AA).
- Messages in plain language. If something goes wrong, Lounjy tells you what's going on and what you can do.
Privacy and security
Your login details and what you watch are not sent to us.
- Your login details are stored encrypted on your device and never sent to us.
- No ads and no account. Lounjy doesn't send what you watch to us or to advertising or analytics companies. Only your own IPTV service sees what you request.
- Only play via VPN, if you want, for example for your privacy on a public network. Lounjy has no VPN of its own, but it sees whether the VPN app on your device is connected.
- Backup of your playlists, settings, favourites and guide links, without any passwords in it.
- Status and diagnostics: see whether your subscription is active and how your TV guide is doing, and measure whether stuttering is caused by your own internet or by your service.
