Relay through your phone (VPN)
For anyone who uses a VPN or doesn't want to give their login details to a Chromecast or smart TV: your phone fetches the picture and passes it to the TV.
When does this happen?
- Automatically, if Only play via VPN is on (Settings → Privacy and VPN). A Chromecast or TV can't use a VPN itself.
- Automatically with a smart TV (DLNA).
- When you choose More info → Relay via this phone in the notice.
With Lounjy on the TV this isn't needed: turn on the VPN on the TV there.
Always relay
- In Settings, set Advanced settings to Show.
- Turn on Always relay via this device.
What it takes
Your phone or PC must stay on with Lounjy open, and it uses some battery. If you stop on your phone, the TV stops too.
TV can't reach your phone?
Many VPN apps block your home network. Lounjy then says … can't reach this device.
- Open your VPN app.
- Turn on Local network access. Some apps call it LAN access.
- Try again.
On Windows: choose Private networks when Windows asks for access.
VPN drops?
Then Lounjy stops relaying. To be sure nothing bypasses the VPN, turn on Always-on VPN and Block connections without VPN in Android.
