Connection problems
Your phone can't find the TV, or pairing or casting doesn't work? Work through these points from top to bottom.
The TV isn't in the list
- Same Wi-Fi? Put the TV and phone on the same network, not on mobile data or a guest network.
- Lounjy open on the TV? Open it, or start it from your phone.
- VPN on? Turn on Local network access in your VPN app, or turn the VPN off for a moment.
- Laptop or tablet as the receiver? Turn on Receive from phone or laptop there.
- Smart TV? Turn on DLNA on the TV.
- Choose Search again. Still nothing? Choose Enter address (see Enter the address).
Guest network or "AP isolation"
Some routers stop devices from seeing each other. Enter address often still works then.
Windows firewall
- Does Windows ask for access for Lounjy? Choose Private networks, not Public networks.
- Is your home network set to public in Windows? Set it to Private network under Settings → Network & internet, at your connection.
- Clicked Cancel earlier? Allow Lounjy afterwards via Windows Security → Firewall & network protection → Allow an app through firewall, with a tick under Private.
Lounjy asks you to pair again
That happens if Lounjy on the TV was reinstalled, or if your phone was unpaired on the TV. Choose Pair again and pair again.
- No pairing screen is open on …: first choose Pair a device on the TV.
- … already has 10 paired devices: unpair one on the TV first.
- … too far apart in version: update Lounjy on both devices.
Fire TV with Vega OS
Not supported
Some new Fire TVs run Vega OS instead of Fire OS. Android apps don't work on them, so neither does Lounjy. You can see which system you have in the Fire TV settings, in the information about the device.
Fire TV also has no built-in Chromecast. Playing to a Fire TV goes through Lounjy on the Fire TV.
Still stuck?
In Lounjy, choose Settings → About → Send feedback, or email [email protected]. Mention which devices you use and what's on the screen.
